Prof. Roberto Visentin già Ordinario di Fisica

Le tappe energetiche di un Fisico,
vero sostenitore dell’Energia rinnovabile

The energy stages of a Physicist, a true supporter of renewable energy

“My dad invented the sun”, so began one of my essays written in elementary school.

My childhood was stimulating and energetic, I remember my father and my grandfather climbing on the parables built in the ground of our country house near Rome, which among the first had hot water thanks to the sun, as well as the University of Arcavacata where as Ordinary of Physics he taught for many years and where the heating was activated with a project on the accumulation, thanks to panels of which there are still archaeological finds, almost archaeological, in the gardens between the buildings, which perhaps deserve the presence of an educational panel to enhance what the South was a precursor.

Before going down to the South I remember, I was 6 years old … he worked on cosmic rays in the national laboratories under Mont Blanc, but the call of the sea won, and Calabria was chosen instead of the chair of Rome and Turin.

His working group was large and very active, dozens of trips around the world to present what Italy was doing in the field of energy for a sustainable future and many conventions and conferences in Italy to update the scientific community on the developments of acquaintances. President of the Mediterranean Cooperation for Solar Energy and Responsible in the 1980s for the energy project of the CNR “Sun, Wind and Water” …

Brilliant mind, always taken up by calculations and inventions, he traveled by train the distance between the Earth and the Moon, 384 thousand km of which a lot to go and return to his beloved Calabria, where he has always been a resident and whose characteristics he knew thoroughly. merits and beauties, which I too have loved and shared.

At night he prepared the exam exercises for his students with the radio on. The future engineers he proudly told me about, underlining that Calabrian women with fine and attentive intelligence stood out among all of them.

In the 70s and 80s, his first patents were on photovoltaics, which today in a reworked and technologically updated version, allow a widespread diffusion of small and large plants, which thanks to the Sun produce true clean and renewable energy for the benefit of the Planet.

In 2013 I accompanied him to Pisa, on the occasion of the Festival dell’Ambiente, to present the active hydroaccumulation of stochastic electric power, the first version of what would have been one of his further future patents, in fact after those of the 70s and 80s. on photovoltaics, he submitted three patent proposals to the Ministry of Economic Development between 2018 and 2019: “Electricity of stochastic origin transformed on demand to support consumption”, “Replicable energy module that produces hydrogen by absorbing primary electricity from the electricity grid”, ” Active hydroaccumulation of stochastic energies – technical-economic perspectives “and his latest publications” The man made global warming – energetic scenarios “published in the American Journal of Environmental Protection and “Energetic options to sustain the planetary economy” published in the International Journal of Innovative Studies in Sciences and Engineering Technology, “after that I have said all there is to say”…

The topics, even at the table, have always been focused on energy, environment, waste, grandiose projects, I also remember one for Gioia Tauro, which in black and white remain in everlasting memory, I can say that I lived in a permanent conference!

The passions were the sea, the motorcycles, the cinema, the dogs of which the last, Lola found a puppy in the mountains of the hinterland of Paola, serious, intelligent and silent like the wolves from which she basically descended, and who has faithfully accompanied on many walks through woods and rivers …

Goodbye dad, with your studies you have been ahead of the times, the world was not ready to grasp its importance, but I hope that future enlightened generations will know how to read in your works the solutions you have calculated for the benefit of our beloved and only Earth, to send “All the world in Wind”,
